Penstemon cardwellii
This rare beauty, a native of open rocky slopes in the mountains of Oregan and Washington State, is easily grown in any well drained sunny spot in the garden. An evergreen subshrub with lax stems dressed in glossy deep green leaves growing 10 to 20cm tall and 40cm wide. Cardwell’s Penstemon produces panicles of amethyst pink to purple tubular flowers on 15cm tall stems.
