“A notable and useful hardy hybrid’ states G.S. Thomas in his notable and useful book Ornamental Shrubs Climbers and Bamboos. Growing to 2 metres or so tall and making a good if rather slow growing hedge or shrub, it is densely clothed in glossy dark green leaves and carries clusters of highly fragrant white flowers. This is a very tough shrub but it does need a little extra irrigation during dry periods. It will make some 2 metres high by near as much wide.
