Epimedium x warleyense
An old selection from Miss Ellen Wilmott’s garden at Warley Place in Essex near London. During the last few years of the 19th century and the early third of the 20th Miss Wilmott was such a passionate gardener that she spent a large, inherited family fortune on her gardens. She died penniless. This Epimedium, one of many plants raised in her garden, is one of the most vigorous of the genus making a robust evergreen ground cover. During late winter and early spring sprays of coppery orange and pale yellow flowers are produced. It is very tough and drought tolerant when once established. 75mm pot.
