Native to rocky shaded slopes, woodland edges in the Eastern parts of North Amwerica from Canada south to the Gulf States the diminutive Aquilegia canadensis normally has scarlet and lemon blooms but in ‘Corbett’ the dangling bell shaped flowers, with rocket like spurs, are soft butter lemon. It varies in height depending on soil conditions from 15-30cm tall and its branching stems, over green leaves, carry several of these charming flowers. Best grown in a lightly shaded spot in the garden and given some extra irrigation during dry periods.
