When to sow: The end of February until August. Where to sow: Direct sow in the garden, or in small pots. Depth to sow: 8 to 12mm. Aspect: Full sun, or as sunny a spot as possible. Soil: Prepared, well drained, fertilized soil. Spacing: 15-20cm between plants
Directions: If seed is planted at monthly intervals, flowers can be had from late winter until Christmas. A single planting will last two or three months as long as spent flowers are removed. Traditionally sweet peas are planted on St. Patrick’s Day, the 17th of March, but any time from the end of February until August is fine.
