Fatsia japonica ‘Spider’s Web’
Fatsia japonica is a native of southern parts of Japan and Korea. The species itself is an evergreen shrub, which can grow up to 3 metres tall, has large palmate, glossy dark green foliage. ‘Spider’s Web’, a rare selection, “……is heavily speckled with white, particularly at the edges, but the white variegation can sometimes spread across the whole leaf.” It is also smaller growing, up to two metres, than the species. Best planted in the shade where it will lighten any dark corners. Pretty tough but it will need some extra irrigation during dry periods. It also makes a good indoor plant.
