Another from English seed house Thompson and Morgan comes this beautifully coloured new California poppy. With semi-double, pink flowers, each with frilled outer petals and a creamy golden eye. Flowers for many months during spring and summer. Sow seeds in situ autumn to spring.

Depth to sow: 3 to 5mm or sprinkle on the soil surface
Aspect: Full sun or as sunny a spot as possible.
Soil: Prepared, well drained, fertilised soil. Add lime if soil is too acid.
Spacing: Between plants: Thin as required
Directions: An easily grown annual best planted by thinly sprinkling the seed in the garden during spring. It will germinate grow and produce its flowers in 6 to 8 weeks. This poppy is happy in any sunny position, even parts of the garden with poor soil. It is both heat and drought tolerant. Once established it will self sow each year.
