First raised by Ernest Markham, William Robinson’s head gardener at Gravetye Manor, between the two world wars, this Clematis has been given the coveted Award of Garden Merit by the Royal Horticultural Society. In our garden it grows 2 metres tall by a metre wide and carries 12cm rich magenta flowers for months during late spring until autumn.
