One of the glories of warmer months this bistort makes good clumps of large oval pointed leaves from which from mid-summer until autumn tall spires carry a myriad of small bell shaped, white flowers. Best grown in a sunny spot in moist well nurtured soil. In flower it will make 1-1.5 metres in height and 0.5-1 metre in width.
