Genista monosperma
There used to be a fine planting of this tough drought tolerant shrub in the St Kilda Botanic Gardens where the weeping silver leaved branches covered with white flowers made a beautiful contrast to the large dark blue spikes of several plants of Pride of Madeira, Echium fastuosum. It grows well here in the dry garden although it did need staking when I first planted it. Happy in any sunny spot which doesn’t get boggy. 250cm x 200cm.
