Echinacea pallida ‘Hula Dancer’
Another great favourite of Dutch landscape designer Piet Oudolf, Echinacea pallida is a native of the North American prairies and dry rocky places. It’s a very tough long-lived perennial, forming clumps of narrow, dark green leaves. The flowers of ‘Hula Dancer’, carried on strong stems, have a coppery bronze central cone from which dangle pink-flushed white petals. Long and repeat flowering if the spent flowers are removed. Best grown in a sunny spot, it is drought tolerant when once established. 60-90cm tall by 40cm across.
