Eryngium planum ‘Blue Glitter’
This very dramatic sea holly carries its steel blue thimbles surrounded by spiky ruffs borne on 80cm tall metallic violet-blue stems for many months from late spring until autumn. ‘Blue Glitter’ is happy in any sunny well drained spot in the garden. A hugely impactful inclusion in any perennial border. E. planum cultivars are without the prickly leaves of other species and hybrids and make an overall softer impact. When once established it is very drought tolerant and will grow up to 80cm tall and 35cm wide.
