Salvia sclarea ‘Archibald’s Form’
We offer a superb form of the Clary Sage called “Super Clary” by Jim and Jenny Archibald because it is so much more handsome than other forms of this species. The Archibalds collected seed of this in the Taurus Mountains of Turkey 35 years or so ago. It makes a clump of large, rough, grey-green basal leaves. During late spring and early summer strong 120-150cm tall stem carry columns of lilac hooded white lipped flowers surrounded by large bracts of pink, white and green. It is an essential part of our garden. Criss Canning once said that if she were to be a flower it would be this one. Sun. 120cm to 150cm tall by 75cm across.
