A round dark green bush bean with terrific flavour. It is a heavy cropper and has good disease resistance. Its heavy frame keeps the beans straight and clean as they are held well off the soil. It takes about 50 days to harvest from seed planting. I plant in mid-October, mid-November and mid-December.
When to sow: Mid-October to early January
Where to sow: Direct into a prepared garden bed
Depth to sow: 2.5cm
Aspect: Full sun or as sunny a spot as possible.
Soil: Prepared, well drained, fertilised soil. Add lime if soil is too acid.
Spacing: Between plants 5cm Between rows 50 to 80cm apart
Directions: After frost danger is over plant bush beans 2.5cm deep and 5cm apart in rows 50 to 80cm apart in well drained soil. When the crop is ready it should be picked every couple of days or so. Plant from mid-October until early January.
