Peony Poppy ‘Danish Flag’ (Papaver paeoniflorum)

One of the most exciting of all peony poppies carrying bright red single flowers each with a white central cross. Flowers are held on 100cm tall stems. Sow seed in situ from autumn until late winter.

 

When to sow: Late autumn, winter and early spring
Where to sow: Scatter seeds onto garden bed
Depth to sow: Surface sow
Aspect:  Full sun or as sunny a spot as possible.
Soil:  Prepared, well drained, fertilised soil.
Spacing: Between plants: 10-40cm

 

Directions:  Easily grown from seed scattered onto the garden. Will reseed every year if ripe seed is allowed to drop.
