Helianthus angustifolius
Swamp Sunflower
An extraordinary plant, H. angustifolius makes 3 metre tall stems clothed in narrow dark green leaves. It looks more like a Lilium than anything else until an eruption of bright yellow sunflowers covers the whole in autumn. At its peak it startles visitors (and us). It is long lived and self supporting and has been in the same spot in our garden for ten years or more. Sun. 300cm x 90cm.
