Eragrostis spectabilis

One of the loveliest of all ornamental grasses when in full glory. Low basal leaves are completely covered by clouds of reddish purple flowers during summer. These age to soft brown during winter. This drought tolerant grass, not to be confused with the invasive African Love Grass, is found wild from Maine to Mexico and has settled in well here at Lambley. It will grow happily in both light sandy soils and heavier clays. 50cm x 60cm.
