Celosia ‘Ruby Parfait’

Celosia ‘Ruby Parfait’

Ruby Parfait has deep rose arrow shaped flower spikes held on 50cm stems. It was bred for commercial cut flower production although it makes an excellent border plant. I grew it for the first time last season and was able to pick a dozen large bunches of flowers from a few plants. Plant seed under cover early spring and plant out in a permanent spot 6 to 8 weeks later. Space 30cm apart.

When to sow: Early spring under cover or late spring in   situ
Where to sow: In seed trays, pots or direct sow
Depth to sow: 3 to 5mm
Aspect:  Full sun or as sunny a spot as possible.
Soil:  Prepared, well drained, fertilised soil. Add lime if soil is too acid.
Spacing: Between plants: 30cm to 50cm

Directions:  Sow seed under cover early spring and plant out in a permanent spot 6 to 8 weeks later or direct sow when frost danger is over.
