Okra 'Clemson Spineless' Organic
Clemson Spineless is the best open pollinated strain of Okra producing a heavy crop of five pointed pale green fruit for many months during the warmer months. The attractive flower can be stuffed like zucchini flowers. Sow into 5cm pots in early September on bottom heat or direct sow when frost danger is over.

Where to sow: In seed trays or individual pots on bottom heat or direct sow in warmer areas
Depth to sow: 5mm
Aspect: Full sun or as sunny a spot as possible.
Soil: Prepared, well drained, fertilised soil. Add lime if soil is too acid.
Spacing: Between plants: Thin to 5 or 6cm
Between rows: 40cm Directions: Soak seeds in water overnight to quicken germination. Okra or gumbo is a very good health food being high in fibre, vitamin C, calcium and potassium. It is also known to be high in antioxidants.
