Wallflower ‘Sunset Apricot' F1
This series of wallflowers is a great improvement on older strains. The colours are more vibrant and true to type, the plants are more vigorous and flower for longer but are just as fragrant as older strains. Sow seed during January and February for a fine display the following spring and early summer. We are offering 9 colours this year.
Award of Garden Merit winner Sunset Apricot has apricot aging to cram flowers on 40cm tall plants.
When to sow: January until March
Where to sow: Direct or in pots
Depth to sow: 3-4 mm
Aspect: Full sun or as sunny a spot as possible.
Soil: Prepared, well drained, fertilised soil. Add lime if soil is too acid.
Spacing: Between plants: 50-60cm
Directions: As they are biennials plant seed in drills into a prepared garden bed from January until March or plant two seeds to a 7.5cm pot thinning to one after germination. Plant out before the plants get pot bound. If well grown Wallflowers will grow 50cm tall by as much across and flower for much of spring and early summer.
