Wallflower ‘Primrose Bedder’ (Erysimum x marshallii)

Wallflowers are essential spring flowers with one of the most delicious fragrances of all. Beautiful when planted with tulips they are also stand alone plants and make great cut flowers.
‘Primrose Bedder’, a compact bushy variety, has large heads of intensely fragrant, soft lemon yellow to cream coloured flowers
When to sow: January until March
Where to sow: Direct or in pots
Depth to sow: 3-4 mm
Aspect: Full sun or as sunny a spot as possible.
Soil: Prepared, well drained, fertilised soil. Add lime if soil is too acid.
Spacing: Between plants: 50-60cm

Directions: As they are biennials plant seed in drills into a prepared garden bed from January until March or plant two seeds to a 7.5cm pot thinning to one after germination. Plant out before the plants get pot bound. If well grown Wallflowers will grow 50cm tall by as much across and flower for much of spring and early summer.
