Tamarix ramosissima
Summer Flowered Tamarix
The spring flowering Tamarix parviflora is the plant most likely to be seen growing in Victoria. Tamarix ramosissima flowers here at Lambley from midsummer until autumn. As it flowers on the new growth we cut it to near ground level each winter. It then makes long willowy blue leaved growth which is covered in fluffy bright pink flowers. Coppiced it will make 200cm x 150cm. Grown as a tree it makes twice that. Drought tolerant.
