Rudbeckia hirta ‘Solar Eclipse’

This stunning variety has bright yellow flowers with mahogany centres. It makes a strong plant growing 60cm tall and needing a space of 30-40cm.

 

 

When to sow: Early spring to late October
Where to sow: Sow seed straight into the garden in late October
 Or sow seed individually in 5cm or 7.5 cm   pots in early September and transplant into the garden in November.
Depth to sow: 1/2cm
Aspect:  Full sun or as sunny a spot as possible.
Soil:  Prepared, well drained, fertilised soil.
Spacing: Between plants: 30cm
   

Directions:  Plant seed individually 1/2cm deep in 5 or 7.5cm pots in early September and plant out in November or direct sow late October.
