Rhodanthemum catananche
Atlas Mountains Daisy
The Atlas mountains between Marakesh and the Sahara desert is home to this exciting genus which has gone through several name changes over the years; Chrysanthemum, Leucanthopsis, Pyrethropsis and now Rhodanthemum. This form of R. catanache, which I’ve grown on and off for 30 years makes low mats of dissected grey leaves and short stems carrying soft lemon flowers with a narrow band of maroon at the base of each petal. Sun loving and drought tolerant. 10cm x 30cm.
