Radish, Daikon 'Miyashige'
Traditional Japanese daikon for planting late summer and autumn. Roots grow 35-40cm long. Used for pickling, salads and soups. Can be stored. Sow seed in rows 5cm apart, thin to 10-15cm. Needs a well prepared deep bed.
When to sow: Summer and autumn
Where to sow: Direct sow in 5cm apart
Depth to sow: 1cm
Aspect: Full sun or as sunny a spot as possible.
Soil: Prepared, well drained, fertilised soil. Add lime if soil is too acid.
Spacing: Between plants: Thin to 10-15cm; Between rows: 30cm
Directions: Harvest during autumn and winter.
