Radicchio ‘Perseo’ (Cichorium intybus)
Extra early radicchio with smaller-sized heads making them useful for smaller households. Uniform size and maturity across the planting. Earliest heading variety in trials in the United States. Sow seeds from August until March.
When to sow: Late winter - early autumn
Where to sow: Seed trays
Depth to sow: 5mm
Aspect: Full sun or as sunny a spot as possible.
Soil: Prepared, well drained, fertilised soil. Add lime if soil is too acid.
Spacing: Between plants: 30cm Between rows: 30cm
Directions: As the seed is fine I plant a dozen or so seeds in a seed tray every three or four weeks. I space the seed out in the tray giving each a space of 1cm square and transplant the seedlings into their final position four or five weeks later.
