Pea, Snow 'Oregon Giant' (Pisum sativum)

Oregon Giant Snow Pea

‘Oregon Giant’ is the most popular commercial snow pea grown in Australia. Grows 100-120cm tall and is a heavy cropper of large sweet snow pea pods. It is resistant to powdery mildew so can be sown from mid winter to November.

 

When to sow: June to September

Where to sow: Sow seed 3 to 4cm apart in 10cm wide drills

Depth to sow: 2cm Aspect: Full sun or as sunny a spot as possible.

Soil: Prepared, well drained, fertilised soil. Add lime if soil is too acid. Spacing:

Between plants: 4cm;

Between rows: 40cm

Directions: Peas are a cool season crop to be planted from June to September. Plant seeds 2cm deep in a 10cm wide band approximately 20seeds per 30cm.
