The deep red leaves, which have a very mild mustard flavour, will add a striking colour for salad mixes. Can be used as a baby leaf or allowed to grow to full size. Sow from early August until late April. 21 days baby 40 days full size
When to sow: Early spring until April
Where to sow: Sow thinly in a 10cm wide band 10 seeds per 5cm
Depth to sow: 5mm
Aspect: Full sun or as sunny a spot as possible.
Soil: Prepared, well drained, fertilised soil. Add lime if soil is too acid.
Spacing: 10cm wide band 10 seeds per 5cm; 30cm between rows
Directions: Harvest when leaves are from 10cm tall.
