Magnolia yuyuanensis

Magnolia yuyanensis, an evergreen tree from moist montane forests of western China, is well established although rare in English gardens. It should do well in Australia gardens if planted in a spot protected from hot north winds. The leathery foliage is boat shape; Flowers are white with green backed sepals. It is likely to grow to 25 metres or more tall.
