Salanova lettuce have the flavour and texture of full grown lettuce but in the home garden individual leaves are harvested as needed. Salanova lettuce are slow to bolt and can be harvested over a long period. Sow seed from August until May for year round salads.

When to sow: Year round
Where to sow: Seed trays or direct
Depth to sow: 5mm
Aspect:  Full sun or as sunny a spot as possible.
Soil:  Prepared, well drained, fertilised soil. Add   lime if soil is too acid.
Spacing: Between plants 20cm; Between rows 30cm

 

Directions: Salanova® lettuce are a terrific innovation in lettuce breeding. Salanova® varieties grow like a head lettuce but have a lot more leaves which are evenly proportioned and baby sized. The seed is pelleted and primed for ease of planting and quick germination. Plant one seed 1/2cm deep every 20cm. Or plant 1 seed to a 5cm pot or 2cm apart in seed trays and plant out when big enough.
