Gladiolus cardinalis ‘hybrid’
This must have been given a clonal name at some time in the past as it has been grown for aeons both in Australia and overseas. One of the most beautiful of the spring flowering Gladiolus with large crimson-red flowers backed silver-gilt and three broad, cream slashes on the lower petals. Easily grown in any sunny spot both dry and moist and generally escapes thrip damage. It grows 50cm tall and should be planted 10 to 15cm apart.
