Eggplant ‘Little Fingers’ (Solanum melongena)

The attractive slender fruit are borne in clusters of 5-10. The best of its kind for outdoor production.

 

When to sow: Early September indoors; plant out mid-  November
Where to sow: in a 7.5cm pot
Depth to sow: 1/2 cm
Aspect:  Full sun or as sunny a spot as possible.
Soil:  Prepared, well drained, fertilised soil. Add lime if soil is too acid.
Spacing: Between plants 50cm Between rows 90cm

 

Directions: Plant 2 seeds in a 7.5cm pot on bottom heat during early to mid-September thinning to one plant after germination. Put the plants out into the garden in mid-November.
