A new US import bred for its stunning early flowers that appear in October here, many weeks ahead of most cultivars of the type. There can hardly be a better carpeting plant for Australian gardens than Convolvulus sabatius. In our dry climate garden it makes dense yard wide mats of evergreen foliage thickly studded with sky gazing round deep blue moons. We cut it back to about 15cm during early winter to allow some breathing space for winter and spring flowering bulbs. As long as the soil is well drained this Convolvulus is happy in any sunny position in the garden. 20cm x 80cm. This cultivar is early to flower; as soon as October in our garden.
