Caryopteris x clandonensis ‘Blue Mist’

Caryopteris x clandonensis ‘Blue Mist’

Petite Bleu Blue Beard

Blue Beards are to our mind the most favoured bee fodder shrub we know. At the height of flowering in late-summer they are agog with bees. The cultivar 'Blue Mist' is one of the best. A compact, well branched small shrub clothed in glossy dark green leaves. During late summer and early autumn it is covered in flowers which attract both butterflies and bees. Drought tolerant when once established it prefers a sunny well drained spot in the garden. A favoured plant in Beth Chatto's famed Gravel Garden in Colchester. 60cm by 60 cm.
