Camellia x williamsii ‘Margaret Waterhouse’
This is one of my favourite Camellias. Whilst most plants in the modern nursery trade have been selected for their dwarf growth habits ‘Margaret Waterhouse’ will grow five metres or more tall. Raised in Sydney by the late Professor E. G. Waterhouse and named for his daughter-in-law it carries clear pink semi-double flowers from late winter into spring. Unlike many camellias the ‘Margaret Waterhouse’ has the desirable habit of spent flowers dropping their petals and not turning brown and mushy on the plant.
