California Poppy (Eschscholzia californica) ‘Carmine King’

‘Carmine King’ has masses of deep carmine rose flowers with a creamy throat on 40cm tall stems. Easily grown in any sunny spot from seed sprinkled onto the surface of the garden. Sow seeds autumn to spring

Where to sow: Direct sow
Depth to sow: 3 to 5mm or sprinkle on the soil surface
Aspect:  Full sun or as sunny a spot as possible.
Soil:  Prepared, well drained, fertilised soil. Add   lime if soil is too acid.
Spacing: Between plants: Thin as required
   

Directions:  An easily grown annual best planted by thinly sprinkling the seed in the garden during spring. It will germinate grow and produce its flowers in 6 to 8 weeks. This poppy is happy in any sunny position, even parts of the garden with poor soil. It is both heat and drought tolerant. Once established it will self sow each year.
