Cabbage, Chinese ‘Matilda’ F1 (Brassica rapa)

Matilda is an industry leading quick growing, slow bolting new variety of medium size Chinese cabbage suitable for year round growing. Disease resistant. A slow bolting variety suited to year round growing. Sow seed in garden bed 3 seeds 1/2cm deep every 30-40cm from August until March. Thin to one seed.

 

When to sow: Summer to autumn
Where to sow: Direct in prepared garden bed
Depth to sow: 1/2cm
Aspect: Full sun or as sunny a spot as possible.
Soil: Prepared, well drained, fertilised soil. Add lime if soil is too acid.
Spacing: Between plants  30cm; Between rows    40cm

 

Directions: Sow 3 seeds every 30cm and thin to one seedling after germination.
