Broccoli 'Bay Meadows F1'
A tough adaptable variety which performs well in difficult conditions. Sow seed from early August until late March. It will head up 60 days from transplant. It will give some side shoots after main head is harvested.
When to sow: August until late March
Where to sow: In seed trays or in a drill in a prepared garden bed.
Depth to sow: 5mm Aspect: Full sun or as sunny a spot as possible.
Soil: Prepared, well drained, fertilised soil. Add lime if soil is too acid.
Spacing: Between plants 35 to 40cm Between rows 60cm
Directions: We sow broccoli seed in three ways. 1) In seed trays or individually in 5cmpots. 2) Plant a 5mm deep drill in outside seed beds and then transplant six weeks later into the final position. 3) Direct sow 3 seeds into permanent position and thin to one seedling.
