Salvia nemorosa ‘Caradonna’
Caradonna Meadow Sage
This is the most popular of these terrific hybrid Salvias in Europe, and it performs outstandingly in Australian gardens. S. ‘Caradonna’ distinguishes itself by holding its rich violet flower spikes on stiff black stems. It has done very well in our dry garden this year. We cut all the Salvia nemorosa group down to the ground in winter and again in late December after the spring/early summer flush of flowers start to look tired. This summer cut back encourages a second flowering during late summer and autumn. Sun. 80cm x 50cm.
