Phlomis lanata ‘Pygmy’

Phlomis lanata ‘Pygmy’

Phlomis lanata is itself quite a compact evergreen shrub with the smallest leaves in the genus. ‘Pygmy’, a very, very small clone, has the same grey-green, deeply veined leaves as the type. This foliage makes a lovely foil for the rich golden flowers, large for the size of the plant, which are held in whorls above the foliage. Phlomis ‘Pygmy’ is small enough for the rock garden (I grow it in my dry climate scree beds) as well as a frontal spot in a sunny well drained border. 50cm x 50cm
