Kniphofia ‘Alcazar’
Dwarf Red Hot Pocker
Lambley imported this cultivar from England many years ago. It’s one of the best of the dwarf red varieties. It produces rich coppery coral torches from midsummer on into the autumn. Like all of its summer flowering kind it needs the arching grassy foliage cut to 15cm during winter to keep the plant tidy. In South Africa most pokers are pollinated by sun birds so it’s not surprising that our New Holland Honey Eaters sup on them. 100cm x 80cm.
