This rarely offered Californian buckwheat caused much interest amongst visitors when it flowered last year in our Mediterranean garden. Making a grey leaved shrub, a metre tall by as much across, it carries large domed heads of white flowers which age to rust. A drought tolerant plant which is happy in any well drained sunny spot. Over watering during summer is not advised. We have limited numbers this season.
