Dichelostemma ida-maia ‘Pink Diamond’
I know of no other bulb that blooms as long as this does. It starts to flower in early October and is still looking respectable during the second week in December. The deep pink, tubular flowers, with paler recurved tips, are carried in heads of up to twenty per 40cm tall stem. It prefers dry summer soils or can be planted under low growing perennials.
