Calamagrostis x acutiflora ‘Overdam’
An important grass in Beth Chatto's Gravel Garden, Calamagrostis ‘Overdam’ makes a lovely tussock of creamy white striped leaves. The stiffly vertical flower spikes, mauve pink aging to gold, are produced in summer. It needs a little summer irrigation and is happy in sun or light shade. Although the foliage clumps are evergreen we cut the clumps to near ground level during July make room for the fresh spring new growth. 100cm x 60cm.
