Bat Faced Cuphea (Cuphea lanceolata) ‘Purple Passion’
Last summer and autumn this was the most enquired about annual in the garden. It produces dark purple flowers, reminiscent of a bat's face, in abundance. Needs a sunny or lightly shaded spot. Sow seeds in situ or into individual pots during spring.

Where to sow: Direct sow
Depth to sow: 1/2cm or sprinkle seed on the bed
Aspect: Full sun or light shade
Soil: Prepared, well drained, fertilised soil. Spacing: Between plants 20-30 cm
Directions: Once settled in the garden this will gently self sow and make a terrific display every year.
