Aloe perfoliata

Very few Aloes cope with the frosts we get here at Lambley and those that do mostly flower in the winter and whilst the plants may be frost hardy the flowers certainly aren’t. Happily Aloe perfoliata is a frost hardy summer bloomer. It soon makes clusters of succulent evergreen rosettes and from the larger ones of these 60cm tall stems are produced topped by long tubular red bells.
